Board Of Directors
Childline is governed by a co-opted Board of Trustees who meet quarterly in addition to an Annual General Meeting. The Trustees’ term in office is 3 years. There are reserved seats for a representative from the Soroptimists International of Zimbabwe, one member from the legal profession, and a nominated representative from the two Branch Committees.
Branch Committee members are charged with the responsibility of fundraising, promoting awareness of Childline’s missions and objectives and supporting the operations of Childline.
A Branch is conferred by the Trustees in order to further the aims and objectives of the Organisation. Each Branch is bound by the terms of the Childline Constitution and reports its activities through the Director to the Board of Trustees. By-laws and rules for the individual Branches are drawn up with approval of the Trustees.
The day-to-day running of the organisation is undertaken by a National Director appointed by the Board of Trustees. The Director is supported by a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers to ensure the efficient running of Childline serving the most vulnerable children and all other children in Zimbabwe. Childline has successfully maintained an ethos of volunteerism despite the challenges of the operating environment.
